Electroencephalogram (EEG)
Neurophysiology is the branch of physiology that studies the function of the nervous system, focusing on the electrical and chemical processes that enable neural communication and brain function. One of the most widely used tools in neurophysiology is the Electroencephalogram (EEG), a non-invasive technique that records the electrical activity of the brain. EEG is crucial for understanding both normal brain function and a variety of neurological disorders.
In neurophysiological studies, EEG is used to investigate brain dynamics in real time. It helps researchers and clinicians observe how the brain responds to various stimuli, processes information, and maintains homeostasis. EEG is particularly valuable because of its high temporal resolution, which allows for the precise measurement of changes in brain activity on the order of milliseconds.

Electromyogram (EMG)
An EMG measures the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. This electrical activity reflects the function of motor neurons—nerve cells that transmit signals from the spinal cord to muscle fibers, instructing them to contract. When a motor neuron is activated, it generates an action potential that travels down its axon to the neuromuscular junction, where it releases neurotransmitters to stimulate the muscle fibers. The resulting muscle fiber depolarization is captured as electrical signals by EMG electrodes.
Electromyography (EMG) is a fundamental diagnostic tool in neurophysiology that evaluates the health and function of muscles and the motor neurons that control them.
Lab Facilities
Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV)
At our Clinical Diagnostic Centre, we offer advanced Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) testing to assess the health and function of your nerves. This non-invasive procedure measures how quickly electrical signals travel through your peripheral nerves, helping diagnose conditions like neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, and nerve damage.
Conducted by skilled technicians using state-of-the-art equipment, NCV testing provides accurate insights essential for proper treatment planning. Whether you’re experiencing numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness, our diagnostic expertise ensures timely and reliable results. Trust the Clinical Diagnostic Centre for precise nerve evaluations and comprehensive neurological assessments to guide your care journey.
